  16. as the noose of Nazism tightened around Warsaw's Jews, Szwajger 
  17. eased the plight of sick children--and, as she revealed in 
  18. her 1988 memoirs, I Remember Nothing More: The Warsaw Children's 
  19. Hospital and the Jewish Resistance, fed fatal doses of morphine 
  20. to youngsters destined for the greater pain of the concentration 
  21. camps.
