- as the noose of Nazism tightened around Warsaw's Jews, Szwajger
- eased the plight of sick children--and, as she revealed in
- her 1988 memoirs, I Remember Nothing More: The Warsaw Children's
- Hospital and the Jewish Resistance, fed fatal doses of morphine
- to youngsters destined for the greater pain of the concentration
- camps.
